Several programs are aiming to increase the number of individuals with disabilities in science and technology careers by removing barriers and changing attitudes.

On that day television screens carried images of African American men and women moved to tears as they watched the historical event—one that many of them thought they would never witness in their lifetimes.

Student- and staff-led groups at universities and biotechnology companies are helping to support and promote diversity in these settings.
